With the inspiration from Dubai, team TDIS rethinks the possibility of using the traditional Muslim dwellingsas an urban planning strategy. With one core courtyard and the surrounding living programs, the configurationof a house unit becomes easy to construct and applicable to all cities is our main target. From newly developedurban outskirts to traditional historical district, in order to keep up with the growing urban population and theexpanding metropolitan area, we develop Welling Water with spatial flexibility and social cohesion gainingpossibility between neighbors in our design. Theteam TDIS intends to provide unique and innovative solutions, which aims to be applied in Dubai and Taipei, as well as many other metropolitan cities, for facilitating the much-in-need urban renewal.

With regard to its Energy Solution, Team TDIS introduces the concept of inserting various solar and passive components into the older, existing buildings in order to improve their energy efficiencies. Regarding its Urban Solution, Team TDIS establishes shared-spaces for entrepreneurs and shared-living space for young urban travelers. It not only offers the benefits of transforming the existing labor and/or bringing in refreshed workforce but it also provides fresh drivers for economic growth which often found lacking in many urban renewal cases.
The two Solutions work synergistically to provide both “hard” and the “soft” aspects of the proposal for an overall environmental and economic renewal solution.
C.A.B. stands for Creative Action Base, since Team TDIS proposal is action-driven with highly creative deployments of various resources whether technological, design, or social/cultural. CAB also stands for one of the most active mobilizers in all cities worldwide – Taxi.
