As a student-led NGO that activates in the fields of sustainability, education and renewable energy, our ambition is to create value for the everyday life of many people. After Solar Decathlon Europe 2014, in the next years our plans and our team expanded, as we developed or participated in new projects with local, national and even international impact.
This year’s edition launches the challenge of dealing with a new climate, social and economical context, by designing an intelligent, energy efficient, solar house prototype for Solar Decathlon Middle East 2018. We designed the house prototype following biophilic principles and learning from nature as much as possible. Natural mechanisms for energy saving translated into architectural features, passive strategies and a deeper connection between the indoors and the outdoors. using light, colour, texture and spatial perception.
We wanted to create more than a sustainable house, we wanted to create an experience for the user, building a deeper connection with nature, so that they might become more considerate towards it. Our purpose is to create a healthier, energy efficient and nature-observant built environment.
Through our initiative we bring together like-minded people, encouraging professionals to improve their building techniques and generating communities that will promote a sustainable lifestyle and environmentally friendly initiatives. Our way of doing this is by building spaces where people can live, be productive and happy.
